Graphic Heart Vocabulary is a collection of prose and poetry that I wrote between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00. This time, which I now refer to as my 'Golden Time' gives me the opportunity to filter the day's events and also be inspired by the transition of night to day. There is a very unique energy during this transitional time, call it the 'energy of the universe' if you will. I have found that it only comes about pre-dawn and only then for a few moments. It is during these moments that I am able to pen my words. Often raw, frank and precisely clear, the words flow freely and require little interpretation. In this time of abstract and contemporary poetry we can often lose the meaning of a poem when 'meaning making' is crucial to us all. I wish for my poetry to be comprehensible and not word puzzles. I hope you are inspired by the poems contained within these pages and that you too find your own 'Golden Time'.
