English summary: The resurrection or raising of the dead is chiefly of the highest interest, when it is viewed from the perspective of Jesus's resurrection or the general resurrection of the dead at the end of times. How did this idea of the resurrection of the dead, first mentioned in the Old Testament (and so present in early Judaism), come to play such an important role in early Christianity? The New Testament is directly shaped by questions related to the issue of the resurrection of the dead, including both the resurrection of Jesus and its consequences for humanity, especially for Christians. In this work, Jurgen Becker differentiates between the expectations concerning the resurrection contemporary to biblical times and later developments that shaped how we see humanity through the lens of the resurrection. German description: Auferstehung bzw. Auferweckung der Toten sind uberall von hohem Interesse, sei es im Blick auf Jesu Auferweckung oder auf die allgemeine Totenauferweckung. Wie kam es dazu, dass bereits im Alten Testament und sodann im Fruhjudentum und erst recht im Christentum von der Auferweckung der Toten die Rede ist. Das Neue Testament beschaftigt sich intensiv mit der Frage, welche Konsequenzen Jesu Auferweckung fur alle Menschen und speziell fur die Christen hat. Jurgen Becker differenziert zwischen der damaligen biblisch-zeitgenossischen Erwartung und dem, was wir als zeitlos gultig erwarten durfen.
