Gerard E. Mullin, MD, es médico gastroenterólogo, especialista en nutrición clínica y profesor de Medicina, reconocido por su labor en el Hospital Johns Hopkins, donde ha dirigido programas dedicados a la nutrición y la gastroenterología integrativa. Con una extensa trayectoria asistencial, docente e investigadora, ha publicado cientos de artículos científicos centrados en la salud digestiva, el microbioma intestinal y la relación entre la alimentación y las enfermedades gastrointestinales. Entre sus obras destaca La biblia de la salud intestinal (The Gut Balance Revolution), dedicada a divulgar estrategias respaldadas por la evidencia para favorecer el equilibrio de la microbiota.

A lo largo de su carrera ha impulsado un enfoque que integra la medicina convencional con la nutrición basada en la investigación científica, acercando conocimientos especializados tanto a profesionales como al público general.
