 2020 will forever be remembered for the Covid-19 Pandemic. Many Governments of Countries

around the World took the unprecedented step of shutting their Countries down in an attempt to prevent

the spread of the virus. Isolation and lockdown became the new by-words, which resulted in the UK

aviation industry shutting down, including the helicopters sector.

With everybody apart from the essential worker sitting at home, I thought I could use the situation to give

the now trapped pilots something to occupy their time and hopefully stimulate their minds during their

long hours of confinement!

The result:

'The lockdown tea and biscuit read'

Articles aimed at increasing/refreshing their knowledge on various aircraft systems and their interactions

with the pilot.

It is a fact that the greater the pilot's system knowledge the less likely that the pilot will become

'overwhelmed by events'

Thus reducing the likelihood of overreacting to benign indications in the cockpit, which can turn a non-life

threatening situation into a life threatening event.
