The monograph presents data on the incidence and outbreaks of leptospirosis in the world among the population at the turn of XX and XXI century. It summarizes the results of research of domestic and foreign authors on the history, etiology and circulation of pathogens in foci of various types, as well as highlighted features of the epidemic process and clinical and laboratory diagnosis of leptospirosis. The role of prophylactic and anti-epidemic measures in foci of leptospirosis is considered. Issues of organization of prophylaxis of hospital infections in intensive care units when providing medical care to patients with severe forms of leptospirosis are presented.
