From the creation of man until the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and until now, God has never intended us to see living for Him as adherence to rules and regulations. How many people have you known who undertake as much church related activities as possible, in effort to please the Lord? Yet Hebrews 11:6 says that without FAITH, it's impossible to please Him. How difficult it must have been at that time to understand how this could happen - God's law written on our hearts and in our minds. This is the "life in the Spirit" that was foretold and is now revealed.
