After living 13 years with my sister, Kathleen, I decided I want to share some stories of the experiences we've had along the way. Kathleen is 65 years old and was born perfectly normal. When she was 6 months old she developed double pneumonia along with a very high fever. Before the illness left her body she was permanently brain damaged. Before Kathleen came to live with my husband and I, she led a pretty sheltered life. Our mom especially, attempted to spare her any hurt and did many things FOR Kathleen that she could very well do herself. That is no doubt why her favorite phrase to me is, "I'm not no little kid any more! I can do it myself!" Kathleen never went to any funerals or visitations because our mom told her it was too sad. This left me with a dilemma when our mom passed away a couple years ago. Living with Kathleen is like living with a perpetual child...forever. The stories in this book give an "eye view" of her perception of the world around her. Looking through Kathleen's eyes is a breath of fresh air...she leaves you wanting more!
