Reseña del libro "NOT OUT: A Story of Failure and the Refusal to Quit"

He was never the problem. He just kept being told he was. North Paravoor, Kerala. Madhav is a fourth-row boy in a front-row world — sent out of class for homework he actually did, written off before he turns twelve. Then he finds a bat, a patch of ground beyond the temple wall, and a friend who shouts his name across the length of a verandah. Cricket gives him something no report card ever did. It also teaches him the cruelty of lists: the ones your name is on, and the ones it isn't. Across three decades and three continents — school corridors and selection trials, a career built on finding other people's mistakes, a night in England that costs him everything he thought he was — Madhav keeps discovering the same thing in different disguises. Being dismissed is not the same as being finished. Told in five innings, from Outstanding to Not Out, this is a novel about the teachers who see you before you can see yourself, the friends who stay when leaving would be easier, and the stubborn arithmetic of getting up one more time. Some innings don't end. They just get interrupted.
