This is a book which introduces Pune through the eyes of a Sketcher. This book is how I would show Pune to my visitors. The many trails walk you through the lanes and hidden places of Pune and touch the iconic places which may otherwise be missed by visitors and residents alike. It is full of sketches, descriptions, interesting anecdotes connected with those places and is a great way to explore Pune city. Divided into 10 trails, each taking a different route across the city, touching heritage buildings, institutions, places of worship, to new icons of modern Pune, the book walks the visitor through Pune in a very interesting way depicted through sketches of these locations. So, the sketches show the places, and the text adds small background information about each place. The trails crisscross the city covering points of interest to visitors and residents alike. It is a wonderful way to see, explore and know more about Pune City and in a most unusual way, as if with a knowledgeable guide walking with you. This is the first of the 'City through the eyes of a Sketcher' series and I hope it will tickle the curiosity of the readers to explore the city more and enjoy each part of it. While there is a deluge of information about each city in the world, few books cover Pune in this way, and I am looking forward to interactions with readers to know what more they would like to see in the next book.
