Reseña del libro "REN (en Inglés)"
In the shadowed courtyards and candlelit cathedrals of colonial Puebla, Mexico, a young woman carries a secret older than the city itself. Rene Reyes appears, to the world around her, as nothing more than the too-tall, too-strong daughter of the Posada. A woman who prays fervently, reads voraciously, and loves fiercely. But beneath her quiet devotion lies an inheritance drawn from both heaven and the ancient gods her ancestors once feared: the blood of La Malinche, the wings of a guardian angel, and a calling she can no longer outrun.Picking up where REN: The Arrival left off, REN: The Revival plunges readers deeper into Rene's extraordinary journey, where restless spirits and a vengeful underworld deity threaten the peace of her beloved city. To save it, Rene must descend into Mictl?n itself, navigating a gauntlet of mythic trials: rivers that test the soul, mountains that swallow the lost, and a jaguar's judgment waiting at the end of the road. All the while, her closest bonds are tested above ground: a father haunted by old wars fought at home, a best friend wrestling with her own past, and a suitor named Dante whose arrival threatens to unravel the careful order of Rene's world.Christina M. Garcia writes with the instincts of both a novelist and an artist, weaving Aztec mythology, Catholic faith, and Mexican folklore into a tapestry that feels at once ancient and startlingly intimate. Illustrated by the author herself, this is a story of inheritance and identity, of a young woman learning that strength and softness are not opposites, and that the truest battles are often the quietest ones. Readers of REN: The Arrival will be swept right back into Rene's world and newcomers will find themselves just as thoroughly claimed by it.
