Reseña del libro "Sci-Frights: Two Terrifying Horror/Science Fiction Novels (en Inglés)"
A sleepy English locality is about to get a whole lot sleepier when a mysterious virus hits the residents hard. A joint US-UK team venture inside, along with a scientific advisor, a specialist used to dealing with such things – someone who has secrets of his own. But this isn’t going to be a straightforward mission, it’s one that could not only put their own lives at risk, but threaten the entire world… Then, in the far future, a very different team travel to a planet whose population has seemingly vanished. But are they just asleep somewhere too? And what happens if they wake up? These are the Sci-Fights, two short horror/SF novels from the mind of award-winning, #1 bestselling author Paul Kane (the Arrowhead trilogy, Lunar, The Storm) that are love letters to everything from Quatermass and The Andromeda Strain, to Alien, Event Horizon and beyond. Buckle up, because science fiction has never been so frightening! ‘There’s a lot to like here, and I very much recommend it. It’s a cerebral take on the genres it culls from, but it’s fast-paced and always entertaining. Think of it as the written equivalent of a B-movie with brains. Good stuff indeed!’ (Horror Novel Reviews) ‘For readers who love the cross-pollination of science fiction and horror – and like it told in a gritty action style with military nuance – there is a lot to like within these pages.’ (Hellnotes) ‘What I enjoyed is how Kane here delivers character; you care about the people in danger and it had a unique explanation for what is going on. Throw in escapes, tension and fights to the death, there is very little to complain about. Fun will be had!’ (Runalong the Shelves)
