During her eighteen years as a kindergarten teacher, Patty Nelson developed a method of teaching that provides an excellent classroom atmosphere in which young children can excel in learning. This drastically reduces discipline problems for the rest of the school year. She has mentored two teachers, at the request of her principal, using these methods, and both continue to use them. These methods are simple, effective, and straightforward. This book is the fourth of a four-book series that describes Patty's methods of instruction and classroom management. The book is full of cute illustrations provided by her sister-in-law, Carolyn Smith. There are also numerous illustrations and ideas for a classroom scrapbook for the kids to do that can be both instructional and fun. There is also a section on teacher's rewards. Patty has reviewed the book with principals, school superintendants, and an instructor at Northern Arizona University. All believed that it is an excellent and practical book for beginning teachers.
