Reseña del libro "Tales of Scilly: Podgy and The Delightful Company (en Inglés)"
Podgy the Porpoise and his thoughtful sea friends Scritch the Crab and Inky the Squid will enthrall your children and you! For children, this book provides beautiful illustrations-a porpoise lounging in an armchair that floated down from above; life lessons-when the porpoise rescues the crabs, they return the favor; and great suspense-when the porpoises orchestrate a harrowing rescue! For adults, it contains an imaginative and thoughtful perspective of life beneath the sea-when the crabs try to free the porpoise from the net "soon the noise of the crabs' clipping claws began to get quite loud"; encouragement-"They knew full well what it was to be captured and had a deep well of tenderness and compassion for those who had experienced similar hardship. Not only had they pity for her but they had done something about her plight. It only goes to prove that all it needs is one good deed to start off a chain of like help and compassion"; Or...Freedom! It had always been within his reach, if only he had told someone of his plight; someone who could have been caring enough to do something about it! There must be many unfortunate creatures in the Universe and, it can only be hoped that they will now take strength from his happy release and tell someone of their needs"; humor-"piece of Cod which passeth all understanding!"; poetic description-Soon they heard a "gentle low and thrumming noise, rather like the noise made by the lowest string of a double bass being stroked." Or...his cries gave way to the "sudden screaming of tortured wood." Or..."The tears in their eyes were not only of sadness for there was an awful lot to be thankful for and joy claimed her share in the falling tears. This truly is a book that you will enjoy reading over and over to your children, as well as to yourself.
