The continuous rise, since the avant-garde, of a non-lyrical and transmedial poetry blurs the limits of what can be considered poetic. In this context, what is the place of poetry?

This apparently naïve question implies considering the full extent of the diversification of poetics, which, while assuming the rapid and transnational circulation of aesthetics, are committed to an intense dialogue with the local particularities of spaces marked by political struggles or extractivist exploitation. The tension between globalisation and (re)territorialisation constitutes a challenge to critically assume the proliferation of contemporary expressive forms and languages. From this perspective, it seems pertinent to study the place of poetry from the notion of ‘territory’, which will be approached from three different perspectives: as a geopolitical entity, as a publishing space of creation and dissemination and, finally, as a digital space.

The 22 contributions by specialists will captivate readers interested in an interdisciplinary approach to Spanish-language poetry, combining knowledge of literary tradition, environmental humanities and transmedia studies.

El auge continuo, desde las vanguardias, de una poesía no lírica y transmedial difumina los límites de lo que puede considerarse poético. En este contexto, ¿cuál es el lugar de la poesía?

Esta pregunta, aparentemente ingenua, implica considerar en toda su amplitud la diversificación de las poéticas, que, al tiempo que asumen la circulación rápida y transnacional de las estéticas, apuestan por un intenso diálogo con las particularidades locales de espacios marcados por las luchas políticas o la explotación extractivista. La tensión entre globalización y (re)territorialización constituye un desafío para asumir críticamente la proliferación de formas y lenguajes expresivos contemporáneos. Desde esta perspectiva, parece pertinente estudiar el lugar de la poesía a partir de la noción de «territorio», que se abordará desde tres perspectivas diferentes: como entidad geopolítica, como espacio editorial de creación y difusión y, por último, como espacio digital.

Las 22 contribuciones de especialistas cautivarán a l@s lector@s interesados en una aproximación interdisciplinaria a la poesía hispanohablante, que combina el conocimiento de la tradición literaria, las humanidades ambientales y los estudios transmediales.

With its new sub-title Romance Literatures of the World, the book series Mimesis presents an innovative and integral understanding of the Romance world and Romance Studies from the perspective of literary studies and cultural theory. It takes account of the fact that the fascinating development of Romance literatures and cultures both in Europe and beyond has set worldwide dynamics in motion which continue the great traditions of the Romance world and open up new horizons for them. Mimesis works from a transareal understanding of Romance Studies which integrates Romance literatures and cultures both within and outside Europe and which transcends the national and disciplinary boundaries which often conceal the interactions between different traditions and developments in Europe and the Americas, in Africa and Asia. In the archipelago of Romance Studies, Mimesis reveals how the representation of reality in the Romance literatures of the world opens the door to a multilingual cosmos of diverse logics.   

Die Buchreihe Mimesis präsentiert unter ihrem neuen Untertitel Romanische Literaturen der Welt ein innovatives und integrales Verständnis der Romania wie der Romanistik. Sie trägt der Tatsache Rechnung, dass die faszinierende Entwicklung der romanischen Literaturen und Kulturen in Europa wie außerhalb Europas weltweite Dynamiken in Gang gesetzt hat, welche die großen Traditionen der Romania auf neue Horizonte hin öffnen. Mimesis zeigt auf, wie die dargestellte Wirklichkeit im Archipel der romanischen Literaturen die Tür zu einem vielsprachigen Kosmos verschiedenartiger Logiken öffnet.
