At the age of 4, she was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder and experienced the same struggles as Shelly in her book, The Backpack. Despite her learning differences, Kristan has always loved art and creating characters from her God-given imagination. She would love to bring more of her creatures to life in books or film.Through The Backpack she desires to bring hope to others with learning differences and to let them know God has a plan and purpose for their lives.
