Occasioni mancate: quante volte ci troviamo a rimpiangere il passato, e quanto avremmo potuto fare, ma non abbiamo fatto, vuoi per incoscienza, per paura, per mancanza di spirito di iniziativa? Questi sono i pensieri che affollano la mente di Michael, il protagonista di questo racconto. Tornando a Pavia circa trent'anni dopo la sua laurea, passando per quei corridoi e quei cortili, trova inevitabilmente tutto cambiato, Michael si ritrova così in quello che ai tempi era l'istituto della sua Facoltà, dove è subito sommerso da ricordi e rimpianti. Ecco che quasi magicamente, gli si presenta l'occasione di tornare indietro nel tempo, agli anni della sua università, per cambiare il suo passato, e dunque il suo destino. Siamo sicuri che tornare indietro sia la scelta giusta? E che, comunque, le scelte fatte non fossero le migliori per la nostra vita? Michael lo scoprirà sulla sua pelle, e, attraverso le sue scelte, arriverà ad una maggior consapevolezza di sé. Il racconto apre, sicuramente, nuove prospettive sulla vita e sulle cose ma sopra ogni cosa vuol dimostrare che le scelte, che la nostra vita ci pone davanti ad ogni istante, non vanno mai rimpiante, perché erano probabilmente le migliori per noiMissed occasions: how many times we find ourselves caught in regretting for the past, and for what we should have done? This thoughts literally "crowded" Michael's Mind (Michael is the Protagonist of this tale) when he was back in Pavia, in his "old" University, where he studies about thirty years back. Crossing these corridors and courtyards, and finding everything has changed, he reached the courtyard, and after the former institute, of his Faculty, where he is overwhelmed by flows of regrets. Now, like in a Magic, the chance of being back into the past, to live again the years of his studies there, and, so, to change the past and, as a consequence, his destiny, is there, before his eyes. Nevertheless, are we sure that being back into the past is really the right choice for our Life? And that the choice we did weren't the best for our Life? Michael is about to discover this, and, trough his choice, he'll reach an increased awareness of himself. This tale, doubtlessly, opens new perspectives and viewpoints upon Life and things around us. In its shortness, it displays a remarkable intensity, also in its capability of opening new sights upon what's Reality, how is the Time, and upon the fact it could be back on itself, in a non linear way. And, I think, especially on the fact that our choices, that we perform at any moment during our life, maybe are the best for us, and the ones allowing us the best on our path to awareness.
