Siddhartha Mukherjee (Nueva Delhi, India, 21 de julio de 1970) es un médico, investigador y escritor indio-estadounidense, considerado uno de los mayores divulgadores científicos y voces innovadoras de la medicina contemporánea. Se formó en Biología en Stanford, fue becario Rhodes en la Universidad de Oxford, donde obtuvo un D.Phil. en inmunología, y se graduó en Medicina en Harvard. Actualmente es profesor asociado de Medicina en la Universidad de Columbia y oncólogo en Nueva York, guiando una investigación pionera sobre cáncer y terapias celulares. Además de su labor clínica y científica, escribe para medios como The New Yorker y The New York Times.

Su obra El emperador de todos los males (2010), una biografía del cáncer, ganó el Premio Pulitzer en 2011 y fue adaptada en documental por Ken Burns. También es autor de El gen: una historia personal (2016), que fue un éxito internacional y finalista de prestigiosos galardones, Las leyes de la medicina (2015) y El canto de las células (2022), todos ellos reconocidos como referentes en la divulgación de la ciencia moderna.
