Reseña del libro "The Sealed Town: A Novel of the Closed Air (en Inglés)"

Ship Year 0. Before the locks close on the eighteen thousand four hundred people counted for the voyage, Ellis Harlan records a note about October on Colorado’s Front Range: the dry air, the sage, the cold coming down the hogback after dark. It will be wrong by the time anyone needs it. He records it anyway. Then the drums begin to turn, and the ship becomes a town that can never open a window. Iron runs soft in the crop bays, and someone would rather call it theft than biofilm. A bearing sings a number up through the deck that only one engineer knows how to walk down. Births are scheduled by law, the dog line on the population board stays struck, and every liter of water is counted twice. Messages from Earth arrive years late in an English the ship no longer speaks. Across one hundred and eighty-seven years, the Harlans keep faith with the record: a crop hand who will not let a feeling stand in for a measurement, a magistrate, a hall chief who shuts a contaminated line on a hard day, an archivist who refuses to write a single sentence that tells the next reader what to feel. Around them a quarrel grows between the Town and the Contract, over whether the ship is a finished world or a vehicle that owes a landing. At the far end waits a world under an orange star that never agreed to them, and a child who will hear the water loop and think it is weather. The Sealed Town is a quiet, exacting novel about inheritance, accuracy and love, and about the sorrow in the things that cannot be transmitted. From Paturious Wilhelm Grey, the author of Same Tuesday.
