"They Are Only Spoons" is a collection of poetry in three parts. Included are Struggle, Resolution and Frisson. In this book you will find whimsical, persona, and autobiographical pieces. Significant challenges have taught me resilience. This year, 2014, is the ten year anniversary of my parents' demise, I have included previously unpublished renderings of thoughts, some of a confessional nature that has relaxed my spirit in order to make sense of my family's life together. My biggest personal challenge occurred in 1998; I survived my two brain surgeries. I have three different poems relaying my angst and understanding of that time. This book has the latest, which is a "kinder, gentler" version. Look for previous collections by John M. Starino. "Onion Season Pt. 1" was released in 2012 and "Onion Season Pt. 2" was released in 2013.
