Robert Lawson (1892-1957) fue un escritor e ilustrador estadounidense, conocido por sus contribuciones a la literatura infantil. Se formó en la Universidad de Massachusetts y desarrolló una prolífica carrera que abarcó tanto la escritura como la ilustración. Lawson ganó reconocimiento por su estilo detallado y su habilidad para capturar la esencia de sus personajes.

Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentra "El pequeño tren de los deseos" (1934) y "Ben y Me" (1939), que coescribió con el autor y periodista Robert Burch.
