Lucy R. Lippard (Nueva York, 1937) es una escritora, crítica de arte, comisaria y activista estadounidense, reconocida por su papel pionero en el arte conceptual y el feminismo artístico. A lo largo de su carrera, ha publicado más de 20 libros sobre arte contemporáneo, activismo, feminismo y política cultural. Ha recibido numerosos premios y reconocimientos, incluyendo la Beca Guggenheim (1968), el Premio Frank Jewett Mather de la College Art Association (1975), el Distinguished Feminist Award (2012) y el Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award for Writing on Art (2015) .

Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentran Six Years: The Dematerialization of the Art Object from 1966 to 1972 (1973), From the Center: Feminist Essays on Women's Art (1976), Eva Hesse (1976), Overlay: Contemporary Art and the Art of Prehistory (1983), Mixed Blessings: New Art in a Multicultural America (1990) y The Lure of the Local: Senses of Place in a Multicentered Society (1997).
