At our 'new birth', we are given 'GIFTS' by God. The first gift is the Holy Spirit and through the Holy Spirit we receive 'SPIRITUAL GIFTS'. Every Christian has received at least one gift, some more. These gifts are given so we might; Worship God - in spirit and truth, hear and respond to His Voice, be identified with Him, and overcome the works of the devil. But how do we unwrap and use these gifts God has given? That is why this is written! In this 'time of the falling away', we must know that our spiritual gifts are given to enable EACH of us to successfully contribute to the spiritual warfare that the 'Body of Christ' MUST fight. Every good soldier must know HOW to use his weapons. The difference with us is that we have 'spiritual weapons' that can Only be operated by spiritual means. Under the 'controls' directed by the Scriptures, we are to use the 'gifts' to 'discern' the spiritual things of God, from that which is evil. God is enlisting ALL His people, not just leadership, to activate, 'the weapons of our warfare' that when done in the unity and fellowship with other Christians, can 'pull down strongholds'. Praise GOD! Elder William L. Garvin has served as Pastor of Home Ministry Outreach Church (HMOC) in Gary, Indiana, USA, since 1995. He and his wife, -and co-pastor-Beverly Joyce, have been married for fifty-plus years; they've been blessed with four adult children, son Macy, daughter Kelley, son David, and daughter Rachel (Mansoor) Leh. And three grandchildren: Yayra, Nylah, and Micah. They are also blessed with many spiritual sons and daughters. As a Pastor and Teacher, many have asked him about the Holy Spirit and His gifts. This book strives to clarify that the supernatural nature of the spiritual gifts cannot be explained or identified in natural ways. It goes on to identify, from the Scriptures, what the spiritual gifts are, what they do, how they are received, and should operate in each Christian. This is the second book authored by, Pastor Bill, the first being Who Is Jehovah? in 2001, Xulon Press, that shared with the reader techniques for witnessing to Jehovah's witnesses.
