Reseña del libro "Don't go in the Basement (Prequel to William t. Logan Novels) (en Inglés)"

Teddy pulls into his driveway. He’s been drinking. There’s a blond in the passenger seat. He storms through the front door. His wife is waiting. She wants to know who’s in the car. Nobody, he says. Eleanor knows he’s lying. He heads up the stairs, Eleanor close behind. They argue. Enraged, she she shoves him. He falls. Something snaps. An arm, a leg- his neck? But he’s still breathing. The nine iron will fix that. Thwack! Teddy’s dead. Who knew Eleanor could play golf? Where’s his money? Eleanor wants to know. There are passwords on every account. She can’t get a dime. Bills must be paid. Daughter, Lorna, helps Eleanor deal with the body and kill the blond. All hope is gone. No funds. Enticing men home might be the only way they will make ends meet, Lorna decides. Want a ride, cowboy? Come down to the basement. We’ve got big screen TV and beer and me. You’ll have a great time!Lorna is beautiful. Tight body, curves in the right places. Stuff men want. She wants credit cards. Men a pulse won’t hand them over. Lorna has a solution. Her mother is such a fantastic teacher. Rookie cop William T. Logan is told to assist. The blond is no longer the only one missing. Eleanor and Lorna are involved. Logan can smell it. Then his sergeant tells him it’s not his case anymore. Logan can’t drop it, even if disobeying orders will end his career. He must pursue the perps. He cannot allow the homicides to continue. O’Hara quit the Sheriff’s department in Washington after failing to catch a serial killer. O’Hara has a picture of Logan on his wall wearing Army dress greens, getting medals pinned on his chest. O’Hara is throwing darts at it. Years ago O’Hara tried to join the Marines. A vision problem shut him down. Envy, one of the deadly seven, drives his hate for his subordinate. O’Hara is AWOL. He’s up north, searching for the monster who murdered so many. Not catching that monster was a bane to career and mental health. The monster is a professor of physics with a case of psychosis. His life lost all meaning. He fills the void with murder. God’s voice is in the professor’s head. He must be hallucinating. O’Hara and the professor have a shootout, then a chase on snowy roads. The professor is actually leading O’Hara somewhere. Not that it matters. The end game will be the same. A confrontation, and whatever that brings. The endgame can’t be real. The best option is to deny all and put the perps in jail. Don’t listen to the professor, Logan tells himself. Don’t believe the lies. And whatever you do, don’t go in the basement.
