Reseña del libro "Home Reassembled - on Art, Destruction and Belonging: On Art, Destruction & Belonging (en Inglés)"
Nine essays on home, identity, and ruins sets the stage for the challenging and poignant Home Reassembled. Writers, artists, curators, and researchers discuss homelessness and war, utopias of free movement, reconstructing cities and their histories, and the ethics of art in todays world. viewpoints from Benelux, finland, and Syria are bound together by finnish artist Anssi Pulkkinens Street View (Reassembled), a recent mobile art instal- lation, commissioned by the finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux, dealing with homelessness. The starting point for Pulkkinens work is the ruins of a Syrian home destroyed by bombings, shaped into an installation that brings a caravan-like, touring temporary street view into a european cityscape. The authors include Syrian architect and writer Marwa Al-Sabouni, Islam scholar and professor Jaakko Hmeen-Anttila, art historian and professor Hanna Johansson, senior lecturer in visual culture Max Ryynnen, and Dutch curator and critic vincent van velsen. Artist Anssi Pulkkinen also discusses the starting points for his artwork in the book.
