Beulah Fish Haught was a writer, a violinist, and most importantly, a teacher. This book contains two memoirs. In I Married a Good Samaritan, she reminisces about her marriage of fifty-four years to good-hearted, small-town postmaster, James A. Haught. Brown Ridge School: 1923-24 tells the story of her first year as a teacher in a one-room country school, a year that started her teaching career and influenced the rest of her life. Both works were written when Beulah was in her eighties. She retired from teaching, but she never stopped being a writer.
