Living the Christian Life in a Chaotic World is the inspiring sequel to author Rev. Reggie M. Dancel, Jr.'s book, The Most Important Thing In life. In this continuation, the author includes a variety of relevant sermons about timeless issues which provides readers with opportunities to reflect on spiritual topics and experience spiritual growth in their daily lives. The author is a clear and effective communicator, drawing readers into the narrative with ease. Throughout the book, he includes relevant Bible verses and insightful commentary for readers to reflect on. The author writes in a conversational way that is easy to understand and addresses topics that are universal in the human experience. There will be something for everyone to take away from its pages whether they are a believer or not. The author writes about worrying and the fact that when we worry, we are playing God, that at the root of worry is an issue with control. He gives readers steps they can take to practice making the Lord the Shepherd of their lives and stop worrying. This is an important concept which can undoubtedly benefit everyone, as worry is a common pitfall people fall into, especially in the uncertain times we live in. Reggie M. Dancel, Jr. is an ordained clergy in the United Methodist Church, Texas Annual Conference, Houston, Texas. Originally, he and his wife, Betty, immigrated from the Philippines and have lived in Houston, Texas since 1972. This is his second book being published in 2021. Before becoming an ordained minister, he worked as a licensed Master Social Worker in the State of Texas for 12 years. Responding to God's call, he gave up his job and attended Perkins School of Theology, at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas for his Master of Divinity. He was appointed pastor of First Filipino American United Methodist Church for 27 consecutive years until he retired in 2012. They have two children who are both married: Ruth Esther McCollum, also an RN, and married to Daniel; and David Saul, who is a Realtor, married to Alicia. They have five grandchildren, Mia, Cara, Carina, Madeline and David Christian. They continue to live in Houston, Texas and currently support the ministry of First Filipino American United Methodist Church of Houston.
