The presidential election of 2008 ushered in a period of dramatic transformation. For many Americans, this was to become a time of expansionist government and invasive bureaucratic authority. There was a public reaction on many fronts, such as the Tea Party movement. Political fervor was in the air as a megaphone of public dissatisfaction expressed itself as a desire to reclaim liberty. This book, based on a series of presentations at the Hudson Institute-Family Security Matters Conference, attempts to capture this spirit and explore the distinctly American belief in responding affirmatively to the challenges of this era.
