The book presents a short history of Armenia before the acceptance of Christianity then proceeds to tell about the trials and tribulations that led the country into its numerous struggles to defend its new found faith. The heroes of the Mamigonian family are portrayed and how they associated with the country's enemies and allies, the Armenian population, the religious leaders, and the other nobles in the country. The story covers the circumstances that led up to the epic Battle of Avarayr in 451 and how the results of deadly fighting influenced the relationship between Armenia and heathen Persia. The unassailable patriotism and loyalty displayed during this period demonstrated the love of Jesus Christ and the continuation of the nation's Christian faith. The book elaborates on the incidents of history that are so reflective to a country that has had so many adversaries and enemies.
